Several years ago, Colleen Dauterman Mounsey and her husband made a gift to Morton Plant Mease Health Care Foundation in the form of a deferred gift annuity. Below, she shares her experience and why they chose to give.
Colleen: "We had always made contributions to the Foundation by sending a check, but in 2003 we heard about the advantages of a deferred gift annuity."

Colleen: " We also learned that we could create a joint gift annuity that would continue paying at the guaranteed rate until the last spouse died. It seemed like a smart choice to us - a way to make a sizable gift to our excellent hospital system, as well as a way to assure additional income for our retirement."
